I would call the movie, The Secret my second ah-ha moment. When Ali and Jeff Lee came over to watch it, I was excited to have the company. When they left, after multiple pauses and deep conversation, I was left with a new lens with which to view the world. I learned that it is much better to think of positive outcomes and desires rather than dwell on wishing for what you don't want to happen. I made an interesting connection to the believe that, in the classroom, behavioral expectations, or rules, should always be posited in the positive. This way, you don't get students thinking about negative behavior, but you hope that they remain positive. . .While I've known this in teaching for a very long time, I don't think I really tried to practice it in my life. I have since been practicing it and have really noticed positive results.

Your group's presentation on The Secret really hit home. It reminded me of one of the very first videos Madjidi showed us during September F2F.....
"Dewitt Jones in Everyday Creativity says that creativity is a moment where we look at the ordinary but we see the extraordinary. It's about falling in love with beauty, the world, finding your passion. In order to find that beauty, it depends heavily on the lens we choose when approaching anything: a problem, a challenge, dealing with people, friends, work, and family." (October Post 2006)
